Yes. I wonderful friend once told me, “You can’t outrun the fork.” She was an extreme runner and an extremely fit person. What we did while we were together was take control of what we ate and when we ate. We eliminated snacks from the house. And we did exercise. But the key for me was this: eat healthy and simple food. Eat a bit less of it. And stop snacking. We were already exercising, so that was easy. Over the course of our two-year relationship, I got down to my lowest weight ever. My high school pants size. I liked the way I looked with no love handles for the first time as an adult.
Diets don’t work because they are not sustainable. You will walk around hungry or craving foods you are longing for. Take a holistic approach. Be good to yourself at every step and every weight. And then each day, “get back on the horse” or eating healthier and a bit less. Your life will be different. Your body will thank you for it.
