'Why can’t women in their 50s have an acting career without plastic surgery?'

I have a couple very sad ideas about this alarming trend. Men too are getting fixed up. If they are on TV or in a large rock band, they've had "work" done. Think Colbert's hair is really that dark, at 60 years old? Yeah, I don't think so.

But look at current movies. The "wives" and "partners" are often 10 - 15 years younger than their male love interests. Sure, a 25 year old is fun to watch (think Elizabeth D at 25 in the Night Manager) but it's choaking the life out of the roles for women over 30.

And the several rock start I'm most sadened by are Tori Amos, Suzanne Vega, Bono, and so many others. Plastic surgery is NOT the way. Getting enough SLEEP, GOOD FOOD, and EXERCISE. That is "the way" to stay healthy and age gracefully.
