With Gelsinger at the helm, that belief appears to be warranted. According to Intel’s presentation at the 2022 VLSI Symposium earlier this month, the upcoming Intel 4 process node “extends Moore’s law by offering 2X area scaling of the high-performance logic library and greater than 20% performance gain at iso-power over Intel 7.” Those improvements have AnandTech questioning whether it’s “Intel’s first chance to get back on track to re-attaining fab supremacy.”
