I've had some odd experiences on Medium's pay out algo. It seems to be secret and unexplained. When I asked them how I had 99 claps for a post that "they claim" had only been viewed by 6 people. They said readers can add multiple claps to a post. That's true. But... I'd say, keep writing, keep your day job, and figure our what your goal with Medium is, beside the huge income potential.
